Salt And Pepper Tofu

Ingredients

  • 400g firm tofu drained and cut into 2cm cubes
  • 500ml milk
  • 100g starch
  • 120g egg white
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 2 bowls vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  • Put the tofu on a plate. Sprinkle starch on the tofu, make each side of tofu covered with a thin layer starch.
  • Mix starch, egg white, and milk in a bowl to make the seasoning sauce.
  • Add about 1 inch of oil to wok being used for frying. Bring to medium heat. When the oil is hot, add a few pieces of tofu and fry until crispy on all sides before removing.
  • Transfer tofu on a plate. Sprinkle the salt and pepper powder on it. Serve.
