Home Style Tofu Stir-fry

  • 14 ounce block of extra-firm of tofu
  • 2 green onions minced
  • 1 tablespoon Doubanjiang chili bean sauce
  • 1 teaspoon potato starch halve if using cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger
  • 1 bowl vegetable oil
  • 3 black Fungus Soak the black fungus in water for 3-4 hours in advance
  • 1 green pepper


  • Wash the tofu first, and drain tofu. Then cut tofu 1 inch thick triangular piece.
  • Heat vegetable oil in medium heat and add the tofu. Fried the tofu until the other side becomes golden.
  • Transfer tofu on a plate.
  • Wash the green pepper and cut it into small pieces.
  • Heat the pan and pour the vegetable oil in. Add the green onion, ginger and bean sauce.
  • Stir fry for a while until you can see the oil becomes red.
  • Put the black fungus and tofu into the pan then stir fry. Add a small amount of water and sugar. Cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes. Then add the green pepper and stir fry.
  • Mix cornstarch water until fully dissolved. Pour it into the pan. Gently stir for a while. Then turn off the fire and transfer to a plate.
