Tofu For Babies – Tofu Vegetable Strip
My baby is 10 months old. Except for the soup, he never uses a spoon to eat food. He always grabs the food directly by hand. So I chose to make this nutritious and healthy dish for him that encourage him to eat with his hands within 1 year of age. This will exercise the flexibility of the baby’s hand and prepare for the next skilled meal. And I must pay attention to wash his hands to prevent eating bacteria.
How to make tofu vegetable strip
INGREDIENTS
• 1(12 ounces) package extra-firm of tofu drained and cut into 3/4 cubes
• 1 yam, minced
• 1/2 green pepper, minced
• 1 bowl starch
• 1/2 carrot, minced
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Boil about 1 L of water and cook the green pepper and carrot for 2-3 minutes. Then drain and transfer them on a plate. Set aside.
2. Blend tofu and yam in the blender until mix well and smooth to make a tofu paste. Add the tofu paste and starch in a bowl and mix well.
3. Add the carrot and green pepper into the tofu paste and mix well.
4. Pour the tofu paste on the bottom of a high temperature resistant plastic wrap covered mold and put it in the steamer. Steam it for about 15 minutes.
5. Transfer the tofu on a plate and cut it into strips. Serve it.
Tips:
1. The baby within 1-year-old: You can season the tofu strip with shrimp powder. Baby over 1-year-old: You can season the tofu strip with salt.
2. You can spread the oil on the bottom and sides of the mold if there doesn’t have a high-temperature resistant plastic wrap
