Tofu is one of the most important foods in Asia. Beginning in the middle of the 20th century, tofu has grown in popularity in North America and Europe. Vegetarians and vegans worldwide love tofu, and it has become one of their top sources of protein.
Today, I will introduce an easy and nutritional tofu recipe to you: Steamed egg with shrimp and tofu. This recipe perfect combination of tofu and egg, it’s tender taste for all ages. Spread shrimp to add color and flavor, drizzle with soy sauce for freshness, each bite is satisfying.

1 package silk tofu
1 green onion, chopped
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
Step 1: Cut the tofu into 2.5cm cubes.
Step 2: Rub the shrimps with a teaspoon of salt and rinse immediately. Drain, add a little starch and mix well.
Step 3: Make the sauce mixture, combine 1 teaspoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon water in a bowl. Set aside.
Step 4: After the tofu is cut, place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow excess water in the tofu to seep out. Do not pour off the water from the tofu, and place the tofu block evenly in the dish.
Step 5: Crack the eggs into a bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt to the egg, beat the eggs into a smooth liquid.
Step 6: Add 2 times water into the egg mixture, and stir.
Step 7: Pour the egg liquid into tofu dish with a filter.
Step 8: Cover the dish with plastic wrap.
Step 9: Pour the proper measure of water into the pot, place the dish into it. Steam over medium heat for 8 minutes.
Step 10: Remove the plastic wrap, add the salted shrimps and steam for another 2 minutes.
Step 11: Pour the mixed sauce over the dish. Sprinkle some green onion. Then serve.
