Hunan Tofu
Hunan tofu is spicy tofu with Hunan flavor. It’s usually an appetizer and serves best with white rice.
What is Hunan tofu
Hunan tofu is the most common dish in Hunan cuisine and is made from tofu and chili. The taste of this dish is spicy, plus the tenderness of tofu, which stimulates the sense of taste, and is very popular in China.
Hunan tofu recipe
You’ll need:
1 block Chiba tofu, sliced
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
Dried chili
20g pork belly
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
salt
How to make Hunan tofu
1. Thinly sliced Chiba tofu and pork belly. Cut the red, green pepper and dried chili into small pieces.
2. Heat a wok with oil, and stir-fry the pork belly under low heat until lightly golden. Add the Chiba tofu and stir-fry a few times.
3. Add red pepper, green pepper,1 tablespoon of light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce and salt in the wok. And stir-fry under middle heat for 3 minutes. Turn off the heat, sprinkle the green onion and stir-fry a few times. Transfer it on a plate and serve.
