Nicely done!
oh my goodness, this was so good. I want to make it again tomorrow night!
I’ve been looking at tofu in the store for quite some time, but ended up leaving without buying any since I don’t really know what to do with it. The times I’ve had tofu has been a pretty bland experience, but perhaps your recipe will change my mind. Tofu seems like something that should be added to my menu. Thanks
Delicious!! I made this last night because one of my husband’s favorites things to eat is golden tofu. Thank you for the great recipe. Always love finding recipes I can make for vegan friends.
This is my first time making tofu. I couldn’t get it to crisp up. What did I do wrong?
It could be many factors. 1.Make sure you get the water out either by pressing or you can freeze it and then thaw. 2.Make sure the pan is hot before you add the tofu and yes, cast-iron is best.3.Make sure you buy firm or extra firm tofu. 4.Lastly, patience is key. Wait for it to sear before you flip it on all sides. I have also covered it with a dusting of starch. It works either way. Good luck!
This was a super fast and easy weeknight meal for us. I wish I had tripled the recipe. I had never pan fried tofu before and was really impressed with the simple corn starch dredge and the resulting crispy outside and silky inside texture. I also love learning new simple sauces to add to other recipes. Thanks for this one!!
